KARACHI, Pakistan, May 25 (UPI) -- Violence in Karachi claimed the lives of 10 people in one day, officials in Pakistan said.
Dawn News said the body of a man who appeared to have been tortured was found Thursday. Two other people died in shooting incidents.
Shootings had earlier in the day claimed the lives of seven people, including two members of the Pakistan People's Party and a son of a party activist.
Eleven people were detained, including some who were suspected of being involved in gang warfare, police said.
