LONDON, May 23 (UPI) -- The British Supreme Court announced Wednesday it plans to deliver its decision on Julian Assange's extradition next week.

The court scheduled the ruling for May 30, The Guardian reported. The seven justices involved in the decision will also release their reasons.

Sweden has requested the extradition of the WikiLeaks founder to investigate allegations of sexual assault. Assange denies any wrongdoing.

Assange's lawyers argued that an arrest warrant issued by a prosecutor does not meet the requirement in the European extradition treaty of a warrant issued by a competent judicial authority."
