TORONTO, May 22 (UPI) -- Britain's Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, were in Toronto Tuesday as they traveled the country in honor of his mother's 60th year on the throne.

The couple's four-day Canadian visit to mark Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee had a doubly royal agenda Monday night. They joined tens of thousands to watch fireworks over Lake Ontario commemorating the birth of his great, great, great grandmother Queen Victoria, whose May 24 birthday is a national holiday.

Their schedule Tuesday included visits to the Ontario provincial legislature, a homeless shelter, Ryerson University and historic Fort York, built by the British in 1793.

They were scheduled to fly to Regina, Saskatchewan, Tuesday night. While there, the prince was to hold private talks with Prime Minister Stephen Harper and later attend the symphony, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. said.

The couple arrived in Gagetown, New Brunswick, Sunday night, where Charles trained as a military helicopter pilot in the 1970s. His sons, Princes William and Harry, are also helicopter pilots in the Royal Air Force.

Both of Charles' parents, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, are great, great, grandchildren of Queen Victoria.
