MUSCAT, Oman, May 22 (UPI) -- Omani narcotics investigators have accused a police officer of peddling drugs and turned the case over to prosecutors.

The officer allegedly was involved in distributing psychotropic substances, the Anti-Narcotics Department of the Department of Criminal Investigations of Dakhiliyah said in official reports.

The Omani Tribune said Monday the policeman now faces aggravated charges for violating his duties to the state and dishonoring his profession.
