TEHRAN, May 15 (UPI) -- Iran says an Israeli intelligence agent was executed for the assassination of a nuclear scientist.

Press TV said Majid Jamali Fashi was executed at Tehran's Evin prison after being found guilty of killing Massoud Ali Mohammadi, an Iranian physics professor at Tehran University, The New York Times reported Tuesday.

Mohammadi was killed when a bomb detonated in front of his home as he left for work in January 2010.

Fashi also was convicted of receiving training from Mossad, the Israeli spy agency. Iran says Israel paid Fashi $120,000 for his role in killing Mohammadi.

Iranian envoys met Tuesday in Vienna, Austria, with officials from the International Atomic Energy Agency to discuss Iran's nuclear program.
