Pakistani FM supports reopening routes

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, May 14 (UPI) -- Pakistani Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar says she favors reopening NATO supply lines to Afghanistan.

She was hesitant, however, in a conversation with reporters, to offer a timeframe for reopening of the routes, The Express Tribune reported Monday.

Pakistan has blocked NATO supply trucks from entering Afghanistan since Nov. 26 when NATO attacks killed 24 Pakistani border guards.

Khar defended Pakistan's decision to close the routes, citing U.S. drone strikes and the failure to provide credit for Pakistan's role in finding Osama bin Ladin.

Khar said Pakistan did not have a U.N. obligation to keep the routes open.
