Crews move up mountain to plane crash site

JAKARTA, May 10 (UPI) -- Indonesian army troops and emergency personnel moved up the face of Mount Sakal Thursday to the site where a Russian airplane crashed, officials said.

The lead group was about 650 feet from the site were Sukhoi Superjet 100 crashed Wednesday with 45 people on board, RIA Novosti reported.

The searchers haven't seen any sign of survivors yet, a spokesman at the crisis center at Jakarta's airport said.

Sukhoi Civil Aviation President Vladimir Prisyazhnyuk said he thought the teams would reach the crash site before nightfall Thursday.

An aerial search team already has started to collect body parts from the crash site, a crisis center official told RIA Novosti.

However, Russian blogger Sergey Dolya, a member of the Russian delegation at the emergency center in Indonesia, posted on his Twitter page the team hasn't been able to land.

The Sukhoi Superjet 100 disappeared from radar during a demonstration flight near Jakarta Wednesday.

Forty-five people were on board, including eight Russians, one American, one Frenchman, two Italians and 33 Indonesians, Prisyazhnyuk said Thursday.

The manifest showed 48 people were listed but three did not board the flight, Dolya said.
