MOSCOW, May 8 (UPI) -- A pair of migrant workers from Asia were arrested in Moscow for allegedly attempting to sell their newborn baby girl for $3,000, police said Tuesday.

Undercover police nabbed the couple after pretending to be a childless couple interesting in purchasing a baby, the Russian news agency RIA Novosti reported.

Police said the baby, born in a Moscow hospital on May 4, will be available for adoption.

The parents were identified as being from Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
