CARTAGENA, Colombia, May 4 (UPI) -- The Colombian prostitute at the center of the U.S. Secret Service scandal said an agent agreed to pay her $800 but kicked her out the next day without pay.
Dania Suarez, 24, told Caracol News she and some friends met the agent at a bar April 11 and he agreed to pay her a "little gift" of $800, but the next morning he pushed her out of his room at the Hotel Caribe, saying, "Let's go, bitch. I'm not going to pay you," The Washington Post reported Friday.
The interview sparked concern for U.S. Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security, who said he is dismayed the Secret Service has been unable to interview Suarez.
"I have asked the Secret Service for an explanation of how they have failed to find this woman when the news media seems to have no trouble doing so," King said in a statement Friday.
Secret Service spokesman Edwin Donovan said the agency has interviewed 10 of the 12 women allegedly involved, as well as more than 200 interviews with local law enforcement officials, hotel employees and all 135 Secret Service employees on the trip, the Post said.
"If she makes herself available, she'll be interviewed," Donovan said of Suarez.
