The Kamov-32 helicopter, which crashed Thursday near Ostrov in Tulcea County, Romania, was one of two en route from Chisinau to Turkey to extinguish a fire, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleksandr Dykusarov told Interfax Friday.
Five people were aboard each of the helicopters, he said.
The helicopter that crashed was owned by a private Moldovan company.
