TORONTO, April 25 (UPI) -- A 12-year-old boy was arrested after allegedly bringing a loaded revolver to his Toronto school, police say.

Toronto police said the boy had gotten into a fight with another student at Oakdale Park Middle School Friday and the gun was found in his knapsack after a teacher intervened, the Toronto Star reported Wednesday.

The unidentified youth allegedly told authorities he found the .38-caliber Colt revolver on his way to school, the newspaper said.

He now faces assault and gun-related charges.
