VICTORIA, British Columbia, April 19 (UPI) -- The rider of a motorcycle who recorded a 185-mph wild ride on Vancouver Island and posted it on YouTube has been identified but isn't cooperating, police said.

Police in Saanich, British Columbia, told a news conference Thursday computer forensics and witness statements led them to speak with an unidentified 25-year-old man, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported.

They seized a blue Yamaha R1, whose speedometer in the video is seen reaching 300 kilometers per hour, or 185 mph.

The man didn't show up for a scheduled meeting with police Wednesday, Sgt. Dean Jantzen said.

The suspect has 25 previous traffic convictions and has no driver's license, police said. The motorcycle appears to belong to his mother, although it isn't insured, he said.

Investigators said it is thought the video was shot a day or two before April 7, when it was posted on YouTube.

In it, the motorcycle is seen streaking by and weaving among cars on the Trans-Canada Highway.

Accident investigators said at 185 mph, the motorcycle could have sliced a car in half, the Victoria Times-Colonist reported.
