KARACHI, Pakistan, April 5 (UPI) -- Pakistan says the United States does not have any concrete evidence linking Hafeez Mohammed Saeed to the 2008 terror attacks in Mumbai, India.

The U.S. State Department has authorized a $10 million reward for information leading to the arrest or conviction of Saeed, founder of Pakistani military group Lashkar-e-Toiba.

Saeed is suspected of masterminding numerous terrorist attacks, including the 2008 Mumbai attacks which resulted in the deaths of 166 people, including six American citizens, the U.S. State Department's Rewards for Justice Web site said.

Pakistan Foreign office spokesman Abdul Basit said the United States must provide evidence before it will arrest Saeed, the Press Trust of India reported.

"Pakistan would prefer to have concrete evidence to initiate a legal process but in the absence of that, we cannot do anything," Basit said Thursday.
