ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, April 2 (UPI) -- The three widows of al-Qaida founder Osama bin Laden must spend a month and a half in confinement for illegally living in Pakistan, a judge ruled Monday.
The judge also ordered two other bin Laden family members to spend 45 days in confinement, CNN reported.
After the five people serve their terms, they will be deported back to their countries of citizenship, the widow's lawyer, Amir Khalil, said.
The three women -- identified by U.S. and Pakistani officials as Amal Ahmed Abdul Fateh, Khairiah Sabar and Siham Sabar -- have been held by Pakistani officials since U.S. Navy SEALs killed bin Laden in May 2011 during a raid on his compound in Abbottabad. The lawyer did not provide information about the other two relatives.
The judge also fined each defendant 10,000 rupees, about $110, which has been paid, Khalil said.
The wives and two other relatives will serve their sentences in the Islamabad residence where the trial took place, Khalil said.
