Six people were injured, officials said.

The robbers took an undetermined amount of cash and fled on a motorcycle.

Police and mall officials said the thieves lobbed two grenades, one of which exploded in the mall. The second grenade's pin had been removed when police discovered it, Quezon City police district chief Mario dela Vega said.

Coscolluela-Villegas said the gunmen "forcibly entered the mall" and to rob Security Bank's roving tellers, who were delivering money.

"At least two armed men tried to rob the roving tellers of Security Bank in Quezon City," Robinsons said in a statement. "Police authorities responded to the alarm, which is part of the mall security setup, within 15 minutes."
