VATICAN CITY, March 12 (UPI) -- Hacker group Anonymous said Monday it is responsible for shutting down the Vatican's Web site for the second time in five days.
In addition to bringing down the site, the group hacked into the Vatican Radio's database and posted a list of user names and passwords, ANSA reported.
The group blasted the radio station for allegedly transmitting above the legal frequency limit and putting people at risk to "leukemia, cancer and various other terrible illnesses."
"All of Anonymous anxiously awaits an official excommunication in the public square," the group said in a statement circulated online.
In its first attack on vatican.va Wednesday, Anonymous cited the Catholic church's "anachronistic and absurd doctrines, liturgies and precepts," as its motive, ANSA said.
Five alleged Anonymous members were arrested March 6 for computer crimes in Europe and the United States.
