Turkey recently withdrew its support from the regime of Syrian President Bashar Assad after it failed to implement democratic reforms.

Turkish President Abdullah Gul Wednesday urged Assad to make a decision on Syria's future, Today's Zaman reported.

"Stability and peace are no longer attainable by oppression. That era is over," Gul said. "Therefore, the Syrian administration should make a choice. There is only darkness and disappointment at the end of their current road."
