Plane makes emergency landing at Schiphol

AMSTERDAM, Netherlands, March 8 (UPI) -- A plane operated by a Spanish budget airline made an emergency landing at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, immediately after takeoff Thursday.

While emergency services stood by, the pilot landed the plane with no problems, Radio Netherlands reported. The nature of the emergency has not been released.

The plane was operated by the carrier Vueling.

Emergency services are automatically alerted when a pilot indicates a serious problem.
