Murdoch launches new British tabloid

LONDON, Feb. 26 (UPI) -- The editors of News Corp. chairman Rupert Murdoch's newest newspaper, The Sun on Sunday, says the new British tabloid will be outspoken and mischievous.

It was launched Sunday in Britain using staffers from The Sun.

The media mogul was on hand Saturday night as the tabloid rolled off a News International printing press, filling a gap opened when Murdoch's News of the World closed last July in Britain's phone-hacking scandal.

An editorial said the tabloid will be "fearless, outspoken, mischievous and fun" but will hold journalists to account, Sky News reported Sunday.

The Sun on Sunday will be produced by existing Sun reporters, who are said to be unhappy about the extra workload, Sky News said

Ten former and current employees of News International have been arrested in the hacking scandal since last November, Sky News said.
