Kidnapping suspect found dead in prison

JUAREZ, Mexico, Feb. 21 (UPI) -- A Juarez, Mexico, prisoner recently accused of involvement with a kidnapping ring was found dead hanging from a shower head, investigators said.

Jesus Enrique Murillo Garcia, 21, was discovered dead Sunday morning after not responding to the day's roll call. State authorities are investigating.

Murillo was accused mere days before of belonging to an eight-man kidnapping ring operated partially from behind bars. State authorities arrested four other suspects Saturday, accusing them of kidnapping, homicide and car theft, the El Paso (Texas) Times reported.

Murillo has been in custody since Jan. 19 on charges of theft and auto theft. He was arrested with three other suspects, accused of stealing at least 12 cars and motorcycles, a press release said.
