Iraqi ministry announces 14 executions

BAGHDAD, Feb. 8 (UPI) -- The Justice Ministry in Iraq said it carried out death sentences for 14 convicted terrorists, including members of the Islamic State of Iraq.

Ministry spokesman Haidar al-Saadi told al-Sumaria the death sentences were carried out Wednesday for the 14 people including a wali, or leader, of Mosul.

Saadi said the death sentences were carried out in accordance with Iraq's Anti-Terrorism Act and the Iraqi Penal Code.
