Church massacre hangings affirmed

BAGHDAD, Feb. 2 (UPI) -- Iraq's top court affirmed death sentences for gunmen who attacked a Christian church in 2010, killing and wounding dozens of people, a spokesman said Thursday.

The Iraqi General High Court ratified on Thursday the decisions to execute three men who were convicted in the October 2010 bombing in Baghdad of the Lady of Salvation Church, in which more than 40 people died and dozens of others were wounded, Aswat al-Iraq reported.

The three were sentenced to death by hanging.
