Israel conducts mock attacks over Lebanon

Jan. 4, 2012 at 8:10 PM

BEIRUT, Lebanon, Jan. 4 (UPI) -- About 10 Israeli warplanes carried out mock air raids over southern Lebanon Wednesday in violation of Lebanese airspace, The (Beirut) Daily Star reported.

In an unusual show display, the jets hovered low over the southern coastal strip from Sidon to Naqoura, and simulated attacks over Nabatiyeh and Marjayoun at similarly low altitudes, the newspaper said.

The United Nations has repeatedly asked Israel to cease violations of Lebanese airspace
