2 Canadians charged in hate attacks

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Two Canadians police say belong to a white supremacist group are charged in a series of alleged hates, including setting a man on fire, authorities say.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police said Roberton de Chazal, 25, and Shawn MacDonald, 30, both of British Columbia, have been charged in four attacks that took place in the Vancouver metropolitan area between 2008 and 2010. A third suspect had not yet been charged.

Police say the three men belong to an international hate group called Blood and Honor.

Authorities allege they are responsible for spraying an accelerant on a 26-year-old Filipino as he slept on a couch on a sidewalk in New West Minister, British Columbia, in October 2009 and lighting him on fire, police said at the time.

Other attacks allegedly targeted a black man, a Hispanic man and an aboriginal woman, police said Friday.
