'Superhero' teen boys lured sex predators

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Nov. 16 (UPI) -- Three teenage boys are under investigation in Vancouver by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for dressing as superheroes and confronting alleged sex predators.

RCMP Cpl. Tammy Hollingsworth said two of the boys are 17 and the third is 18, the Vancouver Sun reported Wednesday.

The trio apparently posed as young teenage girls in online chat rooms and arranged meetings with men. They also videotaped the encounters as they startled the men while dressed as either Batman or The Flash, the report said.

At least four of the videos were posted online to YouTube but they have since been removed. They were filed under the title "To Troll a Predator," akin to the U.S. TV series "To Catch a Predator," which also targeted sexual predators.

Hollingsworth wouldn't speculate on what if any charges would be brought against the teens, but said the boys created a dangerous situation for themselves and others by confronting and startling alleged predators in public.
