STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- The Swedish government said seven repossessed paintings advertised to have been created by Adolf Hitler may only be worth a few hundred dollars.

The government's debt collection agency had hoped to sell the paintings, which were taken from former Hells Angels leader Thomas Moller to cover some of Moller's mounting debt, The Local reported Wednesday.

The paintings, initially thought to be worth $7,600, appear to have questionable documentation, officials said.

Moller, however, said he can prove Hitler really created the paintings. Moller told Sydvenskan newspaper he obtained the paintings from Nazi Col. Otto Skorzeny, who got them from Hitler himself.

Moller said the government had no right to take the paintings, which he estimates to be worth nearly $600,000.
