3 dead in Canadian helicopter crash

KAPUSKASING, Ontario, Nov. 2 (UPI) -- A helicopter crashed in northern Ontario Wednesday, killing all three people aboard, authorities said.

Wawa-News.com reported the Bell 206 helicopter, operated by Sunrise Helicopters Inc. of North Bay, went down about 19 miles south of Kapuskasing about 11:45 a.m.

The news Web site identified the victims as the pilot, Greg Sawyer, 39, of North Bay, and passengers Dan Simis, 47, of Val Rita, Ontario, and Chad McQuade, 37, of Kapuskasing, who both worked for Tembec Inc.

The Timmins Daily Press reported the James Bay detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police said the aircraft crashed in a remote location near Clear Lake.
