MOSCOW, Oct. 28 (UPI) -- Russia has successfully fired an intercontinental ballistic missile from a submerged submarine, military officials said.
The nuclear-powered submarine Yuri Dolgoruky successfully test-fired a Bulava missile Friday, Igor Konashenkov, the head of the Russian Defense Ministry's press service, told ITAR-Tass.

The missile was fired from underwater in the White Sea to the Kura firing range on the Kamchatka Peninsula, officials said.
The successful launch was the third in six months from the Yuri Dolgoruky, following previous launches in June and August, ITAR-Tass reported.
