HAVANA, Oct. 28 (UPI) -- Cuba and China pledged to enhance military cooperation during a meeting between Raul Castro and China's No. 2 military leader, their leaders announced.
The announcement came during in Havana where the Cuban president me with Guo Boxiong, vice chairman of China's Central Military Commission, Xinhua reported.
The report, quoting a news release, said the two sides exchanged views on international issues of common concern, and expressed satisfaction with the excellent state of the relations between their peoples, parties and governments.
Castro expressed the hope that both sides would join hands and strengthen exchanges and cooperation to lift bilateral relations to a new high.
Guo said China always sees Cuba as a trustworthy friend and a brother in need, adding China is willing to push their relationship forward.
Guo's trip will also include visits to Colombia and Peru.
