PERTH, Australia, Oct. 27 (UPI) -- Hundreds of people greeted Queen Elizabeth II's motorcade Thursday outside Clontarf Aboriginal College in Perth, the last stop on her Australian tour.

The queen's visit to the school included displays of soccer and basketball and of students cooking kangaroo stew, The West Australian reported.

Elizabeth will open the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting Friday. She and her husband, Prince Philip, are scheduled to attend the "Big Aussie BBQ" Saturday before boarding a plane for their return to Britain.

The royal couple spent 6 hours in Melbourne Wednesday. One of the highlights of the day was a tram ride, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.

The queen and her husband were joined by Ted Baillieu, the premier of the state of Victoria, and his wife for a spin along St. Kilda Road. While the tram is a public conveyance, members of the public were not invited to join the queen.

Elizabeth also opened a new Royal Children's Hospital. The facility replaces one she opened in 1963.

The royal couple arrived in Australia last week and have spent most of their time in the capital, Canberra, with a day trip to Brisbane. The visit is the 85-year-old queen's 16th to Australia.
