Nigerian ex-govs targeted for corruption

ABUJA, Nigeria, Oct. 7 (UPI) -- Former governors of three Nigerian states were interrogated following their arrests for alleged corruption, officials said.

Nigeria's Economic and Financial Crimes Commission arrested Gbenga Daniel of Ogun, Adebayo Alao-Akala of Oyo and Ali Akwe Doma of Nasarawa, The Nigerian Observer reported Friday.

They were interrogated Thursday, officials said.

The suspects, all members of the ruling People's Democratic Party, are accused of defrauding the government of $674 million while in office, the BBC said.
