BIRMINGHAM, England, Sept. 25 (UPI) -- Authorities in Britain have rounded up six men with ties to Pakistan they allege were involved in planning suicide bombing attacks.
West Midlands police said three suspects from Birmingham were arrested last week and charged with plotting a bombing campaign in the United Kingdom, The Guardian reported Sunday.
The plotting allegedly took place between late December and Sept. 19.
Irfan Nasser, 30 and Irfan Khalid, 26, from the Sparkhill and Sparkbrook areas, are also charged with traveling to Pakistan for learn how to make bombs and poison, collecting money for terrorism and building an explosive device, the British newspaper said.
A third suspect, Ashik Ali, 26, of Balsall Heath, was charged with raising money for terrorism, stating a desire to be a suicide bomber and trying to recruit other terrorists.
Rahin Ahmed, 25, of Mosely, was charged with helping others get to Pakistan for terrorism training and being involved in the financing of terrorist acts.
The final two suspects, Bahader Ali, 28, and Mohammed Rizwan, 32, both of Sparkbrook, were also charged with failing to disclose information.
A seventh man, age 20 of Birmingham, was being questioned but had not been charged.
The six who have been charged are to appear in court Monday in London.
