Ex-priest threatens teens with chainsaw

MURMANSK, Russia, Sept. 7 (UPI) -- Russian prosecutors have filed charges against a defrocked priest who threatened three teenagers with a chainsaw, officials said.

Acting regional prosecutor Vasily Zagaikevich said the priest started up his chainsaw and waved it in the faces of the three teens telling them he could chop them into pieces, the Russian news agency RIA Novosti reported Wednesday.

The incident took place in May in the village of Varzuga in northern Russia's Murmansk Region.

"The former priest says the way that teenagers are being raised upset him." Zagaikevich said.

He said the man had been serving as priest at a local church before he was removed for "misconduct.
