Russia names two suspects in deadly blast

NAZRAN, Russia, Aug. 26 (UPI) -- Two men arrested in the Russian republic of Ingushetia are suspects in a terrorist attack in North Ossetia in 2010 that killed 19 people, authorities said.

The two are among five suspected terrorists arrested Thursday in Nazran in Ingushetia in a raid that uncovered three arms caches and homemade bombs.

"Geleani Bogolov and Islam Galaev are suspects in the investigation of the explosion at the market in Vladikavkaz," a law enforcement source in Ingushetia told RIA Novosti Friday.

The blast in the central market in Vladikavkaz, the capital of North Ossetia, in September 2010 killed 19 people and injured more than 190.

Russia has been battling an Islamic insurgency in the North Caucasus, with heavy fighting in both Ingushetia and Dagestan.
