BUENOS AIRES, July 27 (UPI) -- Ash from last weekend's eruption of the Puyehue volcano in Chile is impacting air traffic in the capitals of Uruguay and Argentina, officials said.
Lan Argentina, Aerolineas Argentinas and Austral airlines canceled all morning operations out of Aeroparque Airport in Buenos Aires, the Buenos Aires Herald reported.
Flights out of Buenos Aires' Ezeiza International Airport were reported to be operating normally following many cancellations on Tuesday.
The eruption of the Puyehue volcano has taken a toll on local economies, Voice of America reported.
Airline analyst Helane Becker reported worldwide industry losses related to the eruption of the volcano in the Andes mountains of southern Chile could top $50 million.
