2 alleged war criminals nabbed in Canada

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario, July 24 (UPI) -- A Pakistani national and a Honduran accused of war crimes have been arrested in Canada, authorities say.

The Canadian Border Services Agency was informed Friday that Peel Regional Police had arrested Arshad Muhammad, also known as Certosa Aranci and Muhammad Arshad, after a customer in a tile store in Mississauga, Ontario, recognized him from a newspaper story, QMI Agency reported.

Muhammad was arrested a day after the federal government released the photos of 30 suspected war criminals believed to be hiding in the Toronto area.

Another man on the wanted list, Cristobal Gonzalez-Ramirez, 44, of Honduras, was captured Friday by border agents after authorities received numerous public tips, the news agency said.

The men on the list are being sought for various unspecified crimes against humanity.
