Court to rule on Thai-Cambodia dispute

THE HAGUE, Netherlands, July 8 (UPI) -- A decades-old border dispute between Thailand and Cambodia could end this month with an order from the International Court of Justice.

The court in The Hague, Netherlands, said Friday the order will be delivered July 18, the Thai News Agency reported.

In 1962, the court ruled that the ruined Preah Vihear Temple belongs to Cambodia. In recent years, Thailand has insisted the ruling covered only the temple and the area around it is Thai territory.

Cambodia requested a ruling from the court April 28 after clashes in the neighborhood that killed soldiers and civilians on both sides.
