Journalists detained in Belarus

MINSK, Belarus, July 7 (UPI) -- The Belarusian Association of Journalists says more than two dozen reporters covering unrest in the country have been detained.

The BAJ said the reporters were covering the "Revolution through social networks" event held in several Belarusian cities, ITAR-Tass reported Thursday.

The association said plainclothed men detained reporters in the capital of Minsk, ignoring official identification and accreditation cards.

The BAJ said reporters were also detained in Brest, Grodno, Mogilev, Bobruisk and Novopolotsk. Those detained included both Belarusian and foreign reporters.
