Taliban threatens more attacks

June 27, 2011 at 1:35 PM   |   Comments

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, June 27 (UPI) -- The Taliban in Pakistan are making more threats to kill Americans and others as payback for the assassination of Osama bin Laden.

In a video released during the weekend, a Taliban leader vowed the terrorist group would initiate 10 attacks, with sites in the United States and NATO countries on its target list, ABC News reported Monday.

"Soon you will see attacks against America and NATO countries," Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan deputy commander Waliur Rehman says in the video.

France and the United Kingdom top the target list in Europe, he said.

Rehman said an attack on a Pakistani naval base last month was the Taliban's first act of revenge for the May 2 death of bin Laden, the founder of the terror group al-Qaida.
