Anonymous claims the governments of Chile and Peru have violated the rights of their people by monitoring conversations on Twitter and Facebook.

The Chilean government is paying a company $30,000 to monitor a Web site called "What people are saying" on social media sites.

The hackers recently retaliated against a Spanish police Web site after three of its members were arrested and charged for causing economic damage and breaching privacy laws in Spain.

Anonymous has targeted MasterCard and Visa for stopping payments to WikiLeaks and the Sony PlayStation Network.
