Bus crash in Bulgaria kills eight

SOFIA, Bulgaria, June 15 (UPI) -- A bus traveling from Sofia to Burgas in Bulgaria overturned and caught fire, killing eight people and injuring 18 others, officials said.

Police said their preliminary investigation into Tuesday's accident suggested the bus driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel, Beta reported Wednesday.

Officials said the bus flipped over and became engulfed in flames on a highway about 19 miles from the town of Plovdiv.
