Denmark EU office receives bomb threat

May 24, 2011 at 11:00 AM

BRUSSELS, May 24 (UPI) -- Police in Brussels said Denmark's European Union offices were evacuated after receiving a bomb threat by e-mail.

Belgian police searched the premises with bomb-sniffing dogs but no explosive devices were found, JB news reported Tuesday.

Denmark's EU office has 78 employees and is its largest official representation in any foreign country.

Officials said there were more employees than usual in the offices on Monday because preparations are under way for Denmark to take over the EU's rotating presidency.
