QUETTA, Pakistan, May 6 (UPI) -- An explosion followed by gunfire Friday killed at least six people and wounded several more in suspected sectarian violence in Quetta, Pakistan, police said.
Geo News said the attacks were carried out in the city's Hazara town area. Quetta is the capital of Baluchistan province.

The victims were believed to be members of the minority Shiite community, the BBC reported.
Sectarian violence has been rising in Pakistan, a Sunni majority country.
