ALICE SPRINGS, Australia, April 11 (UPI) -- Muggers stabbed and robbed a woman in a wheelchair in Alice Springs, Northern Territory, Australian police say.

The woman told police she was approached by four men in their early 20s who threatened to kill her if she did not hand over money. One of the men then allegedly stabbed the woman in the foot twice with a knife before running off, police said.

The attack occurred about 11:30 am Monday while the woman was travelling down a laneway.
