Chinese children poisoned by milk

PINGLIANG, China, April 9 (UPI) -- Fifteen Chinese children poisoned by contaminated milk were released from the hospital Saturday, authorities said.

Xinhua reported three children died Thursday in Pingliang, in northwestern Gansu province, after drinking milk tainted with nitrites. Most of the 39 people hospitalized for poisoning were under 14.

An initial investigation traced the milk to two local dairy farms. The probe continues.
