ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates, April 3 (UPI) -- Police in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates said one person was killed Sunday in a highway accident involving 127 vehicles.

Scores of police and military personnel responded to the scene and had traffic moving again within two hours, police said.

Investigators told Gulf News that fog had been in the forecast for the past three days due to a combination of light winds and hot daytime temperatures. Hospitals in the area had been put on alert for a likely spike in traffic accidents.
