NEW DELHI, March 28 (UPI) -- A top Pakistani official arrived in New Delhi Monday for two days of talks on counterterrorism and the Mumbai attacks, officials said.
Pakistani Home Secretary Chaudhary Qamar Zaman and Indian counterpart G.K. Pillai are also expected to discuss relaxing visa rules, Voice of America said.
India broke off formal peace talks with Pakistan following the Nov. 26-29, 2008, coordinated shooting and bombing attacks across Mumbai, India's largest city, which left 166 people dead and at least 308 wounded.
New Delhi blames militants based in Pakistan for carrying out the three-day siege.
The countries restarted the stalled peace process last month. In a gesture of friendship, the two-day meeting is the first structured bilateral secretary-level meeting between the two sides on counter-terrorism since the agreement to resume talks.
It comes after Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh invited Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani to India to watch the semifinal of the cricket World Cup between the two countries Wednesday.
Gilani has accepted Singh's invitation to visit India to watch the match.
