BAGHDAD, March 9 (UPI) -- Separate attacks in Baghdad killed a senior Iraqi Defense Ministry official and injured five others Wednesday, police said.
A roadside bomb exploded as the Defense Ministry official's car was moving along a highway in an area south of Baghdad, police officials told KUNA, Kuwait's news agency. The explosion killed the official and injured two bodyguards.

Three people were wounded by roadside bombs that targeted a security patrol in al-Nahda area of Baghdad, officials said.
