JERUSALEM, March 6 (UPI) -- Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu Sunday said Palestinian leaders were trying to avoid peace negotiations in an effort to build international support.
Netanyahu met in Jerusalem Sunday with Chilean President Sebastian Pinera and said the current lack of negotiations was the result of stalling by the Palestinian Authority, The Jerusalem Post said.
"We are willing to sit down for negotiations, but the Palestinians have found a variety of excuses not to do this," Netanyahu told Pinera. "I have not seen a parallel willingness on the Palestinian side to do the same because they are relying on a Pavlovian reflex from the international community."
Ynetnews.com said Netanyahu called Israel the only genuinely stable nation in the region and said the international community was largely ignored by Iran and Libya's Mohammar Gadhafi.
