Gunmen attack Russian police station

CHUSOVOY, Russia, March 5 (UPI) -- Seven bandits attacked a traffic police post in central Russia at dawn Saturday, authorities said.

Oleg Chirkunov, governor of the Perm Territory, said seven gunmen assaulted the police station in the town of Chusovoy around 5 a.m., beat up the two officers present, a man and woman, and seized a gun.

Four of the attackers were caught within an hour and the others a bit later, a police source told ITAR-Tass.

"During the search operation all attackers were detained and their weapons were found and confiscated," the source said.
